Educational Activities

I offer or co-teach the following courses: Earth Systems I (GS100), Geology and the National Parks (GS 105D), Geology and the Environment (GS203), Geomorphology (GS550),  Field Geology for Science Teachers (GS583A [Appalachia] and GS583B [Bahamas]), Quaternary Geology Field Seminar (850), and Global Change and Sustainability in the Earth System (GS H294). See descriptions for these courses. I also supervise Individual Studies (GS 693.xx) in several areas: 02 - Engineering Geology, 04 - Field Geology, 06 - Geomorphology, 08 - Glaciology and Glacial Geology, 09 - History of the Geological Sciences, 10 - Hydrogeology, 18 - Earth Science Education, 19 - Unspecified.

In the past I have taught or co-taught the following: Field and Laboratory Work in Earth Sciences (GS580), General and Economic Geology of the Southern Appalachians (GS670), Population and Resources in the Earth System (GS694P), Applied and Engineering Geomorphology (GS694G), Exploring Nature: Natural Sciences and the Arts (GS694A), and History of Geology (GS874).
