Research Facilities
Research
projects are conducted using a variety of field, laboratory, and computer
facilities. Computing needs of advisees are handled in one of the Hydrogeology
Computing Labs. My computing lab is equipped with three Pentium machines,
a DEC 3100 workstation, two portable computers, color and laser printers,
a digitizer, and access to the Department's and the Universities' computers
through network connections. Laboratory facilities exist for various
types of routine hydraulic and geochemical testing and analyses.
Field equipment includes a variety of pumping, sampling, and geochemical
testing equipment, portable generators, a four-wheel drive field truck,
and use of a Giddings drilling and soil-sampling rig. Additional field,
laboratory, and computer facilities are available in the Department and
in other departments on campus, including the soil-testing equipment in
the Department of Civil Engineering, the chemical laboratories in the School
of Natural Resources, and the field and laboratory equipment in the Department
of Agricultural Engineering.
