here are the custom made hotplates. There is no exposed metal in
these hotplates. To construct the plates a heating "sheet" was sandwiched
between quartz glass plates and sealed. Quartz tubing is used for
the legs. A plug was wired and remains in the outlet at all times.
Power is delivered to the outlet by a "variable on" control located on
the face of the hood. These hotplates are several years old and show
no ill effects from acid fumes.

The beakers are 7.5ml round bottom Teflon beakers from Savillex.
