Whillans Ice Stream Featured in National Geographic
Posted by: Michael Seufer
The January 2009 issue of National Geographic magazine features an article on glacial quakes - earthquakes that originate at the bases of tidewater glaciers. The article focuses on the Whillans Ice Stream, which was named in 2001 in honor of the late Ian Whillans, an SES professor who passed away in 2001.
SES is proud that Professor Whillans' research continues to be cited and that his name continues to be affixed to the focus of his research.
