I have programmed Microsoft EXCEL spreadsheets and macros that perform the
geochemical calculations listed below. The advantage of EXCEL for such use
is that it seems to be completely portable between Macintosh and "Windows"
operating systems, its macro language programing capabilities are very
powerful, and the spreadsheet provides a standard, easy to use, I/O
interface.

-1- Amphibole recalculation and amphibole-Plag. Geothermometry of
Holland & Blundy (1994, Contrib. Min. Pet. 433-447).

-2- Interactively performs the calculation of the
Fuhrman & Lindsley / Elkins & Grove two-feldspar geothermometer.

-3- Calculates density of magmas at various temperatures given
an analysis.

-4- Calculates least squares magma mixing models

If anyone is interested, send me an e-mail message stating which files you
want and whether Mac or Windows. I will send a reply with the requested
files as attachments. These are encoded in "BinHex" format. (You will need
to decode them. This is easy with EUDORA for the Mac which I use for
e-mail, but can be done in several other ways. Ask your local computer
guru.)
