TO: Confederation of Cameca Microprobe Owners
RE: Survey
A while back a survey went out to this group to identify who we
are and what equipment we use. No results from this survey were
ever posted. LetŐs try again with this very simple set of questions.
I _WILL_ post the results of the following survey.
Please e-mail me (chrisc@lpl.arizona.edu) your responses to the
following 10 questions.
Deadline: December 3, 1994
1. Identify the University or Organization that owns the
instrument, and the department within the organization.
2. On what date (month and year) was the instrument delivered.
3. Identify model (Camebax, SX50, SX100)
4. Identify computing system (platform and system)
5. Identify version number of Cameca software currently
installed.
6. Who uses the instrument? Give approximate percentages by
types of users?
a. Earth Sciences
b. Materials Sciences
c. Archeology
d. Chemical Engineering
e. Industrial
f. Other (specify)
7. What computing platforms and programs are commonly used
offline to reduce or analyze imaging or analytical data?
8. What is your typical filament lifetime?
9. Do you have a service contract with Cameca?
10. Does your organization have an employee whose
primary responsibility is the microprobe? If yes
specify percentage of salary that is not soft money or
user fee dependent.
Thanks,
Chris Capobianco
