Subject: auto focus
From: johnf@ice
Ed: Here's what I found in my notes:
--apparemtly some offset in Z in autofocus, due to a difficulty in finding
"true" centering of aperture (re mirror and light source centering), may
need to use a constant offset
-- in local window
tstw conf foc on (validate autofocus)
move stag focu 0 (zero the offset)
then do an autofocus, and estimate how far off from correct z focus (e.g.
1, 2, 3... microns); say you think 2 microns off, then type
move stag focu 2
if its the wrong direction (ie. should have been -2), then you have to go
the opposite direction, and I'm not sure if you can say mov stag focu -2
or zero the offset first; I'd try this to be certain, before telling it to
put in a -2 offset
(also apparently in SX-Foc booklet, pages 7/9):
