Hi john,
well I wouldn't have thought that I'd be a cameca operator having used JOEL
instruments but here I am after getting this job at USCarolina. The Marshians
siad that you had a similar job at wisconsin. Great! Here I have the probe and
an XRF. In addition from December I'll have a stable isotope facility to run!
Accordingly they are pushing to get me a permanent slot as a research professor.
Phew at the moment I am a research associate but I feel that I am one very lucky fella.

So I am churning out data on the backlog of samples. The probe was down when I
came and basically I was dumped in the deep end. Dealing with Cameca and repairing an instrument that I had never run. Still I prevailed so I guess I passed that test.

I am surprized at some of cameca prices;
e.g. spectrometer windows ($521), filaments etc., Is there a cameca users group?can we get things cheaper i.e. 3rd party?
